Through 3 countries – around the „soul of Europe“…
Lake Bodensee, the major link between Germany, Austria and Switzerland, ties together peoples and cultures. Starting in Konstanz near the Swiss border, we cycle along Lake Unter- and Uberlinger See to Meersburg. The route takes us through ample vineyards and orchards into the zeppelin city of Friedrichshafen. Via the festival city of Bregenz and the Rhine delta, we cycle along the Swiss shore back to our point of departure - Konstanz.

1. Day: Constance
Individual arrival and accommodation.
2. Day: Constance - Radolfzell (approx. 52 km)
Through picturesque towns we cycle along Lake Untersee into the medieval small town of Stein am Rhein. Via the Höri peninsula we head today towards Radolfzell with its late Gothic basilica.
3. Day: Radolfzell - Uhldingen/Meersburg (approx. 34 - 40 km)
Today we cycle via Sipplingen into the former free city of Überlingen with its beautiful seafront. Past the minster at Birnau we reach Uhldingen, which is famous for its lake dwellings. After Birnau we fancy a detour to the momentous Cistercian monastery of Salem. Accommodation either in Uhldingen or Meersburg.
4. Day: Uhldingen/Meersburg - Lindau (approx. 42 - 47 km)
Our first destination today is the fishing and wine-growing village of Hagnau. Past Kirchberg Castle, the Lake Bodensee Cycle Path leads us into the zeppelin city of Friedrichshafen, where a visit to the Zeppelin Museum is commendable. Along the bank we cycle via Eriskirch, Langenargen and Kressbronn to Nonnenhorn with the famous “Weintorkel” (wine press). We pass Wasserburg and arrive at the Bavarian metropolis of Lake Bodensee, Lindau.
5. Day: Lindau - Rorschach/Arbon/Egnach (approx. 37 - 49 km)
Through the nature reserve „Rheindelta“(Rhine delta) we cycle into the old seaport town of Rorschach, home to arguably the most beautiful granary in Switzerland. From here we recommend taking a detour per mountain railway to the Appenzeller health resort Heiden or to St. Gallen with its world-famous Abbey library. Cycling farther along Lake Bodensee, we reach the historic town of Arbon - for half a millenium the property of the Diocese of Kostanz - and Egnach.
6. Day: Rorschach/Arbon/Egnach - Constance (approx. 25 - 40 km)
Through the canton of Thurgau, with its small, neat villages and typical half-timbered houses, the route leads us to Romanshorn, a former fishing village which has grown to a big city over the years. The Lake Bodensee Cycle Path finally takes us back to the starting point of our bicycle tour - Konstanz. Individual departure or extension of trip.
