1. Day: Neusiedl am See

Individual arrival (hourly train connection from Vienna to Neusiedl) and accommodation.

2. Day: Neusiedl am See - "Kirschblütenradweg" (approx. 40 km)

Nature lovers will be especially ecstatic on the first day of our trip as we are welcomed by more than 10.000 cherry trees bordering our way; if we are really lucky to come here during blooming season from the middle of April to the end of May, we will travel through a marvellous sea of blossoms. From Neusiedl the route goes on to Jois and along the wine route via Breitenbrunn to Donnerskirchen. We journey back over Purbach to our point of departure, Neusiedl am See.

3. Day: Neusiedl am See - Illmitz (approx. 45 km)

Today’s stage takes us through the wild romantic steppe region of the nature reserve Seewinkel. Always following the lakeshore, we cycle first to Podersdorf, where we have the opportunity of visiting a 200-year-old windmill. Over Frauenkirchen (place of pilgrimage with beautiful church) and St. Andrä we reach the lowest point of Austria in the heart of Seewinkel – Illmitz.

4. Day: Illmitz - Ungarn - Illmitz (approx. 55 km)

Today we get a taste of Hungarian air: We take the bicycle ferry across Lake Neusiedler See to Mörbisch and leaving Austria over a short border crossing. Equally worthwhile is a short detour to Sopron (the former Ödenburg) with its magnificent Renaissance houses. On we go via Balf and Fertöd, where we can visit one of the most beautiful Esterhàzy Castles, to the border crossing of Pamhagen and back to Illmitz.

5. Day: Illmitz - Eisenstadt (approx. 35 km)

Once again we ferry across the river to Mörbisch, where the world-renown Operetta Lake Festivals (“Mörbischer Seefestspiele”) are performed on the biggest lake stage of Europe during the summer months. We leave Mörbisch in the direction of Rust. Another possible alternative involves a detour to St. Margarethen, where the open-air museum Römersteinbruch (Romans’ Quarry) is located. The goal of today is Eisenstadt.

6. Day: Eisenstadt

Today we can explore the cultural sights that the city has got of offer (Esterhàzy Castle with museum and Haydn Hall, Haydn Museum, mountain church with the Haydn Mausoleum,…). Short bicycle trips in the near vicinity of Eisenstadt are possible as well.

7. Day: Eisenstadt - Neusiedl am See (approx. 35 km)

We take our leave of Eisenstadt and return to Lake Neusiedler See, where we have enough time (due to the relatively short stage) to enjoy the marvellous seascape. Over Purbach and Jois it is only a few kilometres back to Neusiedl am See.

8. Day: Neusiedl am See

Individual departure or extension of trip.
