1. Day: Bonn

Individual arrival and accommodation.

2. Day: Bonn - Remagen (approx. 25 km)

Within view of the Siebengebirge (“Seven mountains”) we follow the „Romantic Rhine“ today. A visit to the small town of Königswinter, which possesses one of the fairest Rhine promenades, should be included in our programme. There is also the possibility of taking the oldest cog railway to the legendary Drachenfels mountain and visiting Drachenburg Castle afterwards. Today’s goal is Remagen.

3. Day: Remagen - Altenahr/surroundings (approx. 35- 45 km)

Today we shall witness the only protected Rhine estuary, where the Ahr flows into the Rhine. Afterwards, we cycle via Bad Bodendorf (nostalgic thermal bath) past the world-famous Apollinaris-Spring to the spa town of Bad Neuenahr. From here a marvellous wine-growing area awaits us. Equally worth seeing is the medieval small town of Ahrweiler with its completely preserved city wall. The Ahr Valley points us the way to Altenahr.

4. Day: Altenahr/surroundings - Blankenheim (approx. 40 - 50 km)

Today’s stage leads us into the North Eifel. The densely wooded ride admits detours to a few pristine side valleys. The Ahr River originates from under an ancient timbered house in Blankenheim at the heart of the historic town centre.

5. Day: Blankenheim - Euskirchen (approx. 40 km)

After a short increase we cycle the next few kilometres downhill to the Erft spring at Holzmülheim. From here we continue to follow the Erft River to Bad Münstereifel, where the medieval town centre with its numerous museums and cafés invites us to linger. Past a variety of water mills we leave the Eifel and reach Euskirchen.

6. Day: Euskirchen - Brühl (approx. 40 km)

On the today's stage via Weilerswist and Erftstadt we pass on numerous water castles and most of them are in an excellent status. In Brühl we should visit palace Augustburg as well as the Max-Ernst-museum.

7. Day: Brühl - Köln - Bonn (approx. 30 - 60 km)

You have the possibility of travelling to the metropolitan city of Cologne either by train (to be organised on your own, approx. 30 min., approx. € 13,-- per person, incl. bicycle) or by bicycle. Here you should not miss a visit to the historic town with its numerous brewery houses and the impressive Cologne Cathedral. After having explored the city, we mount our bicycles again and cycle along the “Erlebnisweg Rheinschiene” into the former federal capital of Bonn.

8. Day: Bonn

Individual departure or extension of trip.
