Island Hopping in East Frisia

Island Hopping in East Frisia

Exploring the most charming North Sea Islands by bike...

This tour transports us to the sand, dunes, beaches, and sea of East Frisia! Altogether three different islands are beckoning to be explored: Borkum – the island with a high-sea climate, Norderney – the glamorous island, and Langeoog – the almost entirely car-free island with gorgeous sandy beaches! As much as we will bask in the flair of these particular islands, we are sure to feel equally excited by the charming coast of East Frisia.

The interesting bicycle route leads us past old the “Häuptlingsburgen” (fortresses of the old chieftains) to Dornum, home of the most beautiful moated castle in East Frisia. We cycle farther to Bensersiel, where we ferry to the car-free Langeoog Island. Accommodation directly on the island.

Today we explore the former home of the singer Lale Andersen (Lili Marleen) with its more than 20 m high sand dunes. While enjoying the unique flair and healthy air, we discover the natural beauties of the island on our bikes. Alternatively, we may use this opportunity for sunbathing or taking a walk on the beach.
