A paradise for nature lovers around Lake Müritz and Lake Plauer See...

The greatest water reserve of Middle Europe comprises more than thousand smaller and bigger lakes. All cyclists who are interested in culture and history will get their money’s worth as well, since we pass through interesting cities and villages with ancient city walls, formidable farm houses, and traditional windmills.

1. Day: Waren/surroundings

Individual arrival and overnight stay.

2. Day: Waren/surroundings - Neustrelitz/surroundings (approx. 55 km)

Our first stage takes us to the Müritz National Park, where a nicely laid out trail leads us through extensive forests, swamps, and meadows on the eastern side of the big park to Neustrelitz, the former capital of the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

3. Day: Neustrelitz/surroundings - Wesenberger Seenkreuz (approx. 45 km)

We should not leave Neustrelitz without paying a visit to its charming market and neat palace gardens. Our route takes us farther past a multiplicity of smaller lakes in the direction of Wesenberg, a small dreamy agricultural town.

4. Day: Wesenberger Seenkreuz - Röbel/surroundings (approx. 48 km)

Today we cycle on the border of the Müritz National Park through the softly rolling landscape back to the Müritz and Röbel, a town known for its craftsmanship. Here we can visit St. Nicolas Church and enjoy a fantastic view from the 58 m high tower of St. Mary’s Church. Afterwards we finish the day off in Röbel/surroundings.

5. Day: Röbel/surroundings - Plau (approx. 40 km)

Between Lake Müritz and Lake Plauer See we travel cross-country to the romantic small commercial town of Plau. The 700-year-old ancient brick church as well as many other sights invite us for a visit.

6. Day: Plau - Malchow/surroundings (approx. 35 km)

Along the western shore of Lake Plauer See we cycle to Karow. Farther we go to Alt Schwein, where ancient village life is brought to life by the highly interesting agricultural museum. We cycle on the brink of the Schwinzer Heath to Malchow/surroundings.

7. Day: Malchow/surroundings - Waren/surroundings (approx. 35 km)

The last stage takes us through a wide and open landscape back to the western bank of the Müritz. We cycle through the placid harbour village of Sietow and pass the lovely Klinik Castle. Bathing spots on the bank of the Müritz invite us to cool off before we arrive back at our point of departure, Waren/surroundings.
