1. Day: Salzburg
Individual arrival in Salzburg, the city of Mozart, and accommodation.
2. Day: Salzburg - Chiemsee/Traunstein (approx. 64 km)
Our first stage leads us along the river Salzach on the Tauern Cycle Path to Oberndorf („Silent Night“chapel). After passing the lovely old town of Laufen on the opposite shore of the Salzach, we continue inbound to the warmest swimming lake of Upper Bavaria: Lake Waginger See. Via Nussdorf we reach Lake Chiemsee. Accommodation in Chieming/surroundings or in Traunstein.
3. Day: Chiemsee/Traunstein - Wasserburg (approx. 65 km)
From Chieming/surroundings via Seebruck, we cycle to Seeon, whose monastery was repeatedly visited by Mozart, who did some composing here as well. Back to Lake Chiemsee and further to Breitbrunn, we continue our journey via Amerang to Wasserburg, where the eminent artist used to rest during his travels. All those commencing their trip from Traunstein today may cycle - instead of to Seeon - directly along Lake Chiemsee up to Gstadt and onwards, via Breitbrunn and Amerang, to Wasserburg.
4. Day: Wasserburg - Kufstein (approx. 67 km)
The river Inn accompanies us the whole day on our tour into the Austrian city of Kufstein, the “Tyrolese pearl”. With scarcely any efforts we can fully enjoy our trip via Rosenheim into the State of Tyrol.
5. Day: Kufstein - Kirchdorf/St. Johann in Tirol (approx. 45 km)
The first few kilometres will be covered cycling along the Inn, before we turn via the Ebbs into the somewhat hilly “Kaiserwinkl” of Tyrol. We pass the village of Walchsee and cycle via Waidach and past Kössen through the impressive Tyrolese mountain scenery.
6. Day: Kirchdorf/St. Johann in Tirol - Bad Reichenhall/Bayerisch Gmain (approx. 48 km)
Today’s route leads us into Waidring and, afterwards, to Lofer. Both places were tour stops during Mozart’s travels towards the South. From Lofer, we continue our trip along a wild romantic cycle path next to the Salzach until arrive via Unken at Bad Reichenhall. During his last stay in Salzburg in 1780, Mozart took a trip to his famous spa town.
7. Day: Bad Reichenhall/Bayerisch Gmain - Berchtesgaden (approx. 23 km)
Today, we only cover a very short distance to the town of Berchtesgaden. We can find relaxation in a spa where we are invited to pass the remainder of the day. To all those who still feel like they have got some excessive energy to burn we can recommend taking a trip to the nearby Lake Königssee.
8. Day: Berchtesgaden - Salzburg (approx. 28 km)
We quickly cover the last distance to Salzburg, which leaves us enough time to visit the city of Mozart, with the birthplace and dwelling of Mozart, Hohensalzburg Castle, Mirabell Castle etc. You can expect to pick up your luggage at 18.00 at the latest in our partner hotel in Salzburg. Individual departure afterwards. We recommend booking extra nights in Salzburg in order to further explore the city and its marvellous surroundings (Trumer Lakes, the town of St. Gilgen at Lake Wolfgangsee…).
