1. Day: Villach-Warmbad

Individual arrival in the „Paracelsus-Region“ in the heart of Corinthia. Villach-Warmbad has welcomed bathers as far back as the ancient Romans, who already knew of the relaxing and recuperative powers of the thermal springs.

2. Day: Der Faaker See (approx. 50 km)

We leave town and bike along the foot of the Karawanken in the eastern direction to the first lake of our trip, the turquoise blue Lake Faaker See. We cycle around it and onwards to the famous wayside shrine of Egg, from where we can enjoy a marvellous view over the lake. The river Drau points us on our way home to Villach-Warmbad.

3. Day: Around Lake Ossiacher See (approx. 50 km)

We exit Villach and look upon the castle ruin of Landskron, which – like a sentinel - proudly watches over the city from above. The route leads us farther up to Lake Ossiacher See. In Ossiach we should guide our attention to the former Benedictine Monastery. After a refreshing bath in the lake, we return to Villach-Warmbad.

4. Day: Villach-Warmbad - Klagenfurt (approx. 55 km)

Today it is time to take leave of the region of Villach. The Drau, once again, initially points us the way; after that, the route leads us via the pulsating VIP village of Velden farther through Keutschacher Lake Valley and into the capital city of Klagenfurt, where the Lindwurm (Lindworm) serves as the city’s traditional landmark. One possible alternative to this route is cycling along the northern bank of Lake Wörthersee and through the villages of Velden, Pörtschach and Krumpendorf to Klagenfurt.

5. Day: Klagenfurt – Lake Klopeiner See (approx. 40 km)

After an ample stroll through the enchanting old town of Klagenfurt, we cycle via Ebenthal Castle and Grafenstein Castle (the arcade court is well worth seeing!) to the Völkermarkter water reservoir, and farther to the warmest swimming lake of Carinthia, Lake Klopeiner See.

6. Day: Lake Klopeiner See - St. Veit an der Glan/surroundings (approx. 40 km)

At first we cycle through a softly rolling landscape to the Herzogsstuhl (Duke’s Chair), where the dukes of Carinthia swore to the rights of the classes. From high above greets the biggest church castle of Carinthia, Maria Saal. Especially recommendable  is a side trip to the Hochosterwitz Castle (approx. 15 km), before we reach St. Veit an der Glan/surroundings.

7. Day: St. Veit an der Glan/surroundings - Villach-Warmbad (approx. 60 km)

We should not leave St. Veit without making a stroll through the dreamy alleyways with their lovely arcade courts. We go on along the river Glan to Glanegg with its castle ruin. The idyllically situated Lake Maltschacher See beckons us to cool off before we reach Lake Ossiacher See by passing Feldkirchen. Following the lakeshore, we soon return to Villach-Warmbad.

8. Day: Villach-Warmbad

Individual departure or extension of trip.
